About

Carter's Family Farm & Glamping was born from a simple truth: we are not separate from nature—we are part of it. In a world increasingly disconnected from the sources of our food, the rhythms of the seasons, and the ancient skills that sustained our ancestors, we felt called to create a place where these essential connections could be restored.

Our 10 acres of waterfront property represent more than beautiful land. They are a classroom without walls, a sanctuary for wild things, and a gathering place for community. Every element of our farm—from the high tunnel gardens to the bee apiary, from the survival skills courses to the evening concerts under the stars—serves our central purpose: helping people of all ages rediscover their place in the web of life.

Mission

Our mission is to promote health, wellness, and education through natural resources to enrich the lives of everyone.

Vision

Holistic Stewardship: We recognize that healthy humans require healthy ecosystems. Our farming practices regenerate soil, support biodiversity, and work with natural systems rather than against them.

Experiential Learning: Real knowledge comes from doing. Whether learning to milk a goat, identify edible plants, or build a shelter, our students gain competence through hands-on practice and patient guidance.

Inclusive Welcome: Nature belongs to everyone. We strive to make our programs accessible to youth from all backgrounds, offering scholarships and adapting activities to different abilities and learning styles.

Spiritual Connection: We honor the sacred dimension of the natural world, respecting diverse cultural and faith traditions that recognize creation as a source of wonder, wisdom, and belonging.

Community Building: The farm serves as a gathering place where relationships deepen through shared work, celebration, and the simple joy of being together in beautiful surroundings.

Traditional Wisdom: We preserve and teach skills passed down through generations—skills that foster self-reliance, resourcefulness, and respect for what the land provides.
